I just attended a Cook County Deeds workshop on transferring property upon death without going to probate. I attended in 2017 and may father died in 2020 and the family was able to sale the property without going to court. There is also a discussion about transferring car and bank account. Please contact Robbin Staggers (312) 603-3974 at Cook County Recorder of Deeds.

I am beginning my estate planning, and wondering if the RTA works with trusted attorneys that can help guide me through this. Also, I had a sigh of relief when I saw the RTA existed. I will explore. Thank you all.

After reading through the many topics and information, I tried to think of a word or two to describe my opinion of the Web-site. The only word that came to me over and over is "Awesome". I have not gone through a site that is comparable . Continue doing a job well done.

Greetings,

I am actually trying to reach the Executive Director Arlene Crandall. Arlene was the architect of a program at gage park called the AEDF institute a school within a school and she allowed me addmittance into the program. If it wasn’t for that program I might not have graduated from high school. But I did and because of her and Ms. Frankie Smith I discover my love for Law. I even fancied the idea of being a patent lawyer despite the fact I sucked at math. To make it short, I made to college earned a masters and will be going to law school next year. I just wanted to tell Arlene Crandall, Thank you for believing in me, you wee one of two maybe three people at Gage whom I felt thought anything of me and inspired me. I hope your well as I couldn’t have made it this far with out you.

I just heard this afternoon on WBEZ that Toni Preckwinkle, in her own voice during her interview, plans to try to MERGE the CTPF with the TRS if she is elected mayor.

She stated, as many have said, that Chicagoans have to pay for both the CTPF as well as TRS. But her solution is to MERGE them. She evidently doesn't realize that the TRS and the state have been after our pensions and our fund for decades in order to prop up the TRS.

So, BE CAREFUL WHO YOU VOTE FOR! I did not hear Lightfoot so I do not know her stand on this issue. But Preckwinkle made her position VERY clear.

BTW Another reason to donate to the Legal Defense Fund!!

WHY SHOULD WE CONTRIBUTE TO THE LEGAL DEFENSE FUND when only about a third of the RTAC officers and directors contribute to it. It appears that in 2018 only 7 of the 22 officers/directors contributed. Even though your message was a powerful incentive, if the officers and directors do not support it themselves, why should we?
