Write or email the CTPF and let them know how you feel about this deal with CPS. How anyone expects CPS to pay what they will owe in 2017 in addition to the deferred $500M+interest is beyond understanding. Would that total be over $1Billion for 2017? And why would Mr. Burbridge trust an organization that has done its best to ruin our fund? This makes me wonder about the level of his loyalty to the CTPF.

I thought we were paying our due to keep us up to date on the stupidity of the legislature and CPS but it seem you are only concerned about the legislature. Why nothiing about the proposed raid on the latest payment? How about using sociial media or are you all too old to know how to tweet or post on facebook? Why should I renew when I more information from the newspapers?

Is no one else enraged by the lies and half-truths from the mouth of the mayor on last night's WTTW Chicago Tonight? Are you concerned that yet ANOTHER vote to delay our pension payment will taken on the DAY IT IS DUE?

Watch the "interview" of the mayor on WTTW (6-23). Then start writing and calling your legislators. They truly need to feel our anger and disgust.

My guess. Rahm and Rauner. the two who demanded the "delay" of payment, intend to hold the payment hostage until they get what they want. That would be a loss of our annual 3% COLA as well as any subsidies for health insurance. It is time to act. We are once again being brutally attacked. We need to fight back.

Pitting retirees and pension payments against working teachers and salaries is only the latest trick by the appointed school board, Rahm, and Bruce. The CBOE is made up of millionaires (at least). Who really believes that these folks know nothing about budgeting money? This situation puts a new spin on "Broke on Purpose." CPS has known about this pension payment for years. Going broke must have been their job all along.

I have also heard about some of the folks in Springfield trying to pass a bill to allow CPS to declare bankruptcy. Since the IL Supreme Court made the IL constitution's pension protection clause clear to everyone, the only way around this would be to put CPS under FEDERAL bankruptcy law. Then they can reconstitute all financials, including reforming our pensions. Reforming means lowering pensions and eliminating benefits like health insurance subsidies.

So, it is time to get involved and an email to Jay Rehak should only be the beginning.

Hello Eveyone.

I imagine you're read the email from RTAC about Mayor Emanuel pressuring the CTPF to accept a partial payment on June 30. Please email Jay Rehak, President, CTPF, and tell him to say no, to please stand firm and insist on a full payment no matter how intimidated he feels. When we were working, whether we could afford it or not, we made full payments out of each and every paycheck. The CBOE must make a full payment. Please call, write or send email NOW while there is still time to influence the situation.

Thank you!

If you have not done so already, please email President Cullerton as well as your own state senator to urge them to support HB 3695. This will restore the tax levy for the CTPF that was taken from us in 1995 and is the cause of our decline in funding from 100% to the current 51%.

There are information sheets available from the pension fund website. Please write. We need this bill to pass and it is waiting to be called to the Senate floor for a vote. (It passed the House 102-9 and unanimously out of the Sen. exec. Comm. already.) If you read this, please write to your state senator as well as Pres. Cullerton. Your pension may depend on this bill.

Our fine governor would like CPS to declare bankruptcy rather than fund the education of Chicago children. Anyone have any ideas how that would affect the funding of our pensions?
