we need to publicize the products that teachers should not buy....products made by company's that back conservative super pacs....like Brawny Paper Towels...owned by the Koch brothers, or Hyatt Hotels . Union needs to publish list of traitor products that we can boycott. (Just last week the Chinese workers got a raise after a cry was made for "cage-free laptops"!

Next time I will not be voting for the democrats if they put this burden on teachers who took these pension deals in lieu of salary raises...we did not approve of the "pension holidays" when our funding was neglected.

Thank you for warning us about this.

The reason we were so successful last year is that the CTU, the Retirees, the Police, Fire, etc., all united in WE ARE ONE IL. What is happening with Amendment #5? We need everyone if we are going to defeat it. I don't think only the RTAC can do it alone.

Please send alerts about amendment 5. It could be a nightmare for potential retirees.

Is anyone else embarrassed by Karen Lewis? Herlatest antics have made me cringe. How she is perceived affects how teachers, both active and retired, are viewed. No wonder we are having pension problems with the mayor as well as the folks in Springfield.

Do not allow the mayor to take over our pension board! Our pensions will disappear. This is a very bad idea.

I am requesting that the Vocational Bridge Academy GED Adult Literacy program at the Association House of Chicago 1116 N Kedzie Chicago 773-772-7170 ext 3002 be listed as a volunteer opportunity. I worked for CPS for 37 years and coordinate volunteers inthe program.
Thanks

I appreciate all that RTAC has done for us retirees. I just read the article written by James Ward regarding the latest hearing for those who retired between 1999 and 2004. I retired in 2001 so it effects me. Hopefully RTAC will not stop its participation in the litigation. It sounds as if RTAC might only represent those who belong to RTAC. Is that a fact? I also was wondering how we would get adjusted for the higher income tax we paid. Also what if someone passed away? Will the heirs have to repay? This is just another mess the CPS has created. Thank you RTAC and Mr. Ward for being there for us. Please don't give up.

Great job with the luncheons - considering the better quality food, how did you hold the cost the same?

May's News Bulletin: "Stop Blaming Teachers" by Director * * * Tryba was the BEST article I've read in years! In my 37 years of teaching I always asked why am I being blamed? The last 18 years of service I would leave my house around 7:00 am and not return during football season until 11:00 pm, during basketball season maybe around 8:00pm and on a regular day around 7:00 pm for I was there for my students. Where are the politicians? Blaming teachers!
