YOU HAVE A MEMBER OF RTAC THAT WAS MY FIRST SCHOOL PRINCIPAL IN SEPTEMBER, 1973-4. HIS NAME IS CHARLES TAUCHMAN OF MICHAEL BYRNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. NOW I AM RETIRING AT 60+ YEARS OLD AND WOULD LIKE ALL MY bYRNE PRINCIPALS TO PLEASE COME TO MAKE REMARKS. THE ISSUE IS THAT I NEED HIS TELEPHONE NUMBER TO INFORM HIM.

Does anyone have information on how the state retirees health care insurance may be affected by the new deform? I am under the impression that the latest deform will slash all insurance subsidies. This could easily happen to us. The rahmmonster carries grudges and it is another way to retaliate against teachers. Just wondering if anyone has that piece of information.

Read in today's Tribune what der mayor wants to do. What will RTAC and the rest of the retired associations do about this? From what it said we might lose a third of our pensions. Does this mean we will qualify for medicade or some supplemental income?

By my calculation, teachers who earned less than $45000 a year and had 35 years of service will receive a higher annual increase under the new legislation. While this does not apply to many teachers in the Chicago Metro area probably most Down State teachers will do better under the new law. My legislators who voted for this will not comment!! Was this done to win over Downstate legislators??? :D :) :p ;) ;) :o ;) :p

Now that the legislature and Quinn have dropped the gauntlet, will RTAC get involved as a court adviser even though the reforms do not as yet apply to us? How involved can CTPF get? How involved will CTU be? Didn't the Rahmfather vow to stick it to us because of the strike last year? Keep on the good work.

Hello,

One of my favorite teachers was Mrs. Dorothy Gates, who taught me in 1968 in grade 6 at Josephine Carson Locke School. (Another was Mrs. Shabat at Steinmetz High School.) We corresponded for a few years after I graduated fell out of contact. As a teenager, I must have thought she would be here forever. I regret not having shared my gratitude with her earlier. While it may be likely she has passed, might anyone have any information to share with me? Her influence remains strong in my life and I would like to share that, if not with her, perhaps with her family. Thank you very much!
